The online browser game called Dead Frontier shoots zombies as the stars of the game. Developed by Jagged Blade Games (a one-man games studio), one can just play the game on any browser without the need of downloading additional software.

Dead Frontier combines 3rd person survival horror action with more traditional role-playing elements to create a totally unique MMO experience. Players will need to have their wits about them as they struggle for survival in the decaying, zombie infested city of Fairview. Will you stay in the relative safety of the last remaining human outpost, or attempt to create your own hideout in the depths of the city? The choice is yours.

Dead Frontier plays exclusively in your browser and requires no extra downloads of any kind. What’s more the registration requires only a few seconds so you’ll be playing in no time!

Over 100 of real world weapons are at your dispense to eliminate the zombies. Seems like a Zombie GTA to me.

We all know that Apple and Macs are the uber-secure computing environment of choice for anyone that’s interested in computing securely? PC’s on the other hand are like pre-schoolers in a daycare full of sick kids. They’re going to catch whatever virus and bug floating around the room before you can even realize you’re all out of graham crackers and Kool-aid. I mean finding a non-perfect Mac is like seeing a unicorn in your backyard isn’t it? That is the case right?

Edited screen shot of PC vs. Mac commercial

Perhaps not so much anymore. Viruses may have a notch on their Apple belt now that researchers with Symantec have discovered what could be the first Mac and OSX based zombie machines executing denial-of-service attacks on a network.

They describe this as the “first real attempt to create a Mac botnet” and notes that the zombie Macs are already being used for nefarious purposes.

The researchers pointed to this blog entry that describes a a PHP script, running as root, launching attacks against an unknown Web site.

I’m not a Mac hater, I just hate the blind zeal that most Mac supporters have for their systems and machines and the thought that they’re absolutely impervious to any malicious activity or problems with crashing. I do enjoy seeing news about a chink in Mac’s armor, shiny and white as it is.

However, after seeing the trailer for Resident Evil 5 I really want to bludgeon me some of the undead.

Are zombies undead? I know that vampires are undead. I guess that zombies are dead. Then how is it we can kill them? I get that you can dead the undead, but how do you redead the dead? Anyway, it looks like fun.

I have a bit of a problem though. I can not decide if I should I play the earlier games or just start with 5. If you have an opinion tell me what you think in the comment section.

I want to have the total Resident Evil experience.

Just when I decided to reinstall my old copy of Half-Life 2, news of an interesting mod pops up. Anyone ever heard of Zombie Panic? Notice that I’m a sucker for games related to ninjas, zombies, and samurai, so don’t be surprised when I start drooling over this new mod.

Zombie Panic is a multiplayer that pits humans versus zombies. The session begins with just one zombie (can’t an entire team choose to play as zombies?), but whenever a human is slain, he respawns as one of the undead. The human side wins when they wipe out the zombies.

How is the game balanced? Well, each side has its own quirks. Humans are quicker, have more weapons, and can communicate via voice commands (through a menu). Zombies, on the other hand, have regeneration, some form of respawning, and zombie vision.

It’s interesting to note that while humans get the initial advantage in numbers, the zombies will eventually multiply as the game wears on.

The best part about the mod is that if by some strange reason you don’t have Half-Life 2, you can always play it in Half-Life. You can visit the download page here.

This version is quite different from what you’ve come to know of Silent Hill games, but it’s hard to say if it’s a good or bad thing.

If you enjoy a shortage of ammunition in your games, then you’ll be surprised to hear that this Silent Hill is chock-full of ammo. Yes, you’re looking at a shooter on rails.

So what is Silent Hill: the Arcade like? For starters, the cabinet is a bit different from the ones I’ve seen. Whoever designed it definitely wanted no onlookers because as Spencer (the blog’s author) described, “You have to step into a mess of hanging streamers” before you can pick up your gun.

Spencer also revealed that the game has some cheap tricks in its sleeve. Apparently, several decoy zombies attract your attention while more dangerous monsters pop-up below the screen. What is it about “horror” games and their monster placement?

If you know your Silent Hill, then you’ll be happy to learn that Pyramid Head is one of the many baddies you get to pump with an obscene amount of lead. However, it’s still unclear though how to beat the iconic fiend.

Aside from Pyramid Head, you’ll also run into some bugs, zombie nurses, and monstrous dogs, among others. Yes, it feels like one big happy reunion.

I seriously doubt the radio with static would be of any use in this game.
