Is it just me of does Christmas seem to start earlier and earlier every year. I was driving the other day and not only did i hear 1 Christmas carol, but TWO! I normally have a very strong opinion about starting Christmas early because my birthday falls at the end of November, and I never wish to celebrate Christmas or start to even think about Christmas till after my birthday has passed. When I was younger, I used to think how dare we sing Christmas song when I haven’t even had my birthday song yet. I know, little brat eh?

This year is different though. I was thrilled when I hear my first Christmas tune. Instant joy. Christmas gives me such a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. You all of a sudden think about family, friends, cozy houses with fires, Christmas decorations, the smell of pine tress, warm beverages. Speaking of warm beverages, I have to put the red Starbucks on my list as well for great Christmas reminders. The day I saw that red cup, I knew the countdown was on.

My parents also already bought my advent calendar for this year! I still do one every year, and before I know it, it will Be Dec. 1st and I will have to open the first little window and eat my very first chocolate of the month! Yes, I am still a big kid, and when it comes around Christmas time, it really shows. How can you not be a kid at Christmas time? It’s so easy and makes it so much more fun. So yes I still believe in Santa because if you don’t, you are just ruining the spirit of Christmas for those around you, and yourself. It doesn’t take much to use your imagination, and when you do, you won’t regret it!

I don’t care how old you are, you should never loose your imagination. Having an imagination is very important because it allows you to live dreams, have thoughts, and do things you may not necessarily do otherwise, and allows you to escape reality. Even people who have pretty sweet lives still need to ‘escape’ from time to time.

T-shirt courtesy of BustedTees

I have to admit, I’m still a pretty big kid at heart. I don’t want to grow up…I”m a Toys R Us kid. That doesn’t mean I sit at home and play with my barbies, but you know what? I bet I could do that and still have fun. It’s what will keep me young and not build unwanted stress in your life. The longer simple things make you happy, the longer you will live.

I had a huge imagination when I was a kid, and so did both my sisters. I am the youngest of three so you can imagine I did whatever they told me to do. So in their imaginary worlds, I was there imaginary servant, and brought them imaginary food. Because I had such a great imagination, I LOVED being the servant and eating invisible food.

My sister and I even had our own imaginary world when we were little. We could only enter our world by jumping through the sprinkler. Once we arrived in our world, we could not let go of each others hands – we always had to be holding hands otherwise the evil spell would break the spell. What spell? Who knows but it would have been terrible if it was broken! The only way to return to the real world was jumping back through the sprinkler. (I’m talking one of those ghetto sprinklers that look like a fan and move down and up from left to right so it was like jumping through a curtain of water). Sometimes we would be called in for dinner, but we hadn’t left our world yet so we had to eat dinner still holding hands. My mom would get so mad and tell us to let go but we told her we couldn’t! Because it would break the spell!

I bet there are times where parents think their children are bizzare. I’m going to have to remember my childhood stories to help explain my kids when I’m older and remember that the imagination is a gift, and so what if they have an imaginary friend, as long as they are happy.

I actually was never really grounded as a kid. Not because I was a perfect little angle, but because my parents never really used ‘grounding’ as a punishment. Apparently to some kids, grounding was the only way to go. What exactly does grounded mean? In this instance, this poor tree is grounded for life and doesn’t even have a choice. Even if he wanted to run away and ‘break’ the grounding and not obey his or her parents he can’t!

T-shirt courtesy of BustedTees

How many times have you probably heard a parent use this expression though. They are so angry in the moment at what you have done that they yell “You are grounded…for LIFE”. Well that’s a little much. And clearly, you are not going to ground your children for their entire life. May as well put them in jail.

When I was a lot younger…I thought grounded meant something entirely different. At that age I was into the whole fairy tale stories and happened to love Rapunzel. You know, the one where she is locked up in the tower and is never allowed out? Well I thought THAT was grounded. Literally, ‘grounded for life’ locked up, and not allowed out. So one day I guess I did something wrong. I can’t remember what exactly, but all I remember is my sister telling me that I was ‘dead meat’ and that I was going to be grounded. I was terrified. After crying and feeling sorry for myself, and almost peeing myself, I picked up a basket and went around to all the rooms in the house and filled the basket with all my toys, books, and simply everything and anything I could do to occupy me for the rest of my life. If I was going to be locked in my room, I may as well keep myself busy!

When my basket was filled, i carried it over to my mom and said “Ok Mom, I’m ready to be grounded.” Sure enough, what I had done obviously wasn’t a big deal. My sister had just enjoyed playing it up to make me scared because that’s what she did those days. Thank god that is not what grounded means, and thank god I was never locked up in my room for the rest of my life.

You are either amazing at it, or you suck. In any event, when it’s your turn and your standing at the other end of the ping pong table, you think and know that this throw is going to be awesome. This throw is going to be the best throw you have ever thrown, and your going to get it into a cup and sink it and win the game. You know you suck, but you feel like you are just the best player on the team and everyone is going to give you high fives all the way around and pick you up and chant your name as you win the final toss.

T-shirt courtesy of BustedTees

That dreams shortly dies after you take your throw and it lands no where near any of the cups and then boucnes off the table. Does this happen to everyone, or just me?

I thought this shirt was appropriate as we are approaching July 1st for us Canadians, and of course July 4th. Luck for you Americans July 4th lands on a Saturday this year so I’m sure your weekend will be filled of fun and not to mention a few cottages playing beer pong. I know it’s a great game, however it better not over shadow and kick out flip cup.

Now were talking. Now flip cup I can handle. You still have the same attitude as if you are the bes player there and going to do the most amazing flip and down your beer faster than anyone else, the difference here though is that I actually can. You DO want me on your team for clip cup.

As soon as it’s my turn, i down that beer, prepare my cup at the enge of the tab, and give it a slightly hard, but not too hard tap with my thumb. Up it goes, flips ones, and lands perfectly on the other end and the next player goes. What a feeling that is. YOu turn around to make sure everyone just saw that amazing turn, and that if your team wins it’s because you cut the teams time in half just by downing that beer.

Everything is a mess and everything is soaked with beer. The table, your clothes, the floor. But no one cares because your team won!

All this beer game talk is making me thirsty. Time to prepare for those cottage weekends and sociaable partying while bringing in the beginning of July. Enjoy and play safe.

I guess at the end of the day it’s better because you haven’t spent all your money, but it’s also very unsatisfying. Was it you? Your mood? Having a bad day? Terrible fashion at the moment? Or do the fashion Gods actually know your in the mood to spend, so then deliberately play jokes on you?

Whatever the reason, I now try to pretend that i’m not psyched for shopping when I do want to shop, in hopes that I actually will find something when I’m allowing myself to shop.

If I had a dollar every time someone ‘mimicked’ turning down a volume button at me – I’d be a millionaire. I’m loud. I can’t help it. I just have a very loud volume. When I get excited, the volume turns up, and when I have something I want to say and have heard, I’m just plain loud. It’s not as if I am screaming or anything, but I just don’t really hear myself and how loud I actually can get. We have an aunt in our family who is very very loud, and I think that’s where it comes from. At least, that’s who I will blame it on.

T-shirt courtesy of BustedTees

I also think I might have a hard time of hearing. I know I’m still young, but hearing definitely can play a toll on loud speaking. The loudest part of me is my laugh. I have heard so many people say “Oh Franca, I thought that was you coming up, we heard your laugh from a mile away”. Is that a good thing do you think?

I was fortunate enough to go on a cruise with my family one year, and these ships are massive. I had my Dad tell me when we were back at the room one evening that he had heard me from the other end of the ship. Exaggerating much dad? Probably – but not by much!

I think volume and the tone/loudness of your voice has to do with character. Even though my dad once told me to maybe get a ‘new’ laugh, or at least monitor the volume, he also told me that it gives me character and my laugh is a part of me. Even though he can at times be embarrassed to be around me lets say when we are at a nice restaurant for dinner, he still never wants it to change.

Everyone has that certain individual whether they are part of the family or a family friend that is incredibly loud. This t-shirt would be perfect for them. I know it’s perfect for me – at least this way if I were to be wearing this t-shirt people are warned and not surprised when I open my mouth.

If it’s not I apologize, but I guess with the nice weather starting, Smartie Blizzards are on my mind!

T-shirt courtesy of BustedTees

There is a DQ up from my work where in the summer times we try to make Friday a DQ day. Since I’m a little older I thought it would be good to change up my blizzards from time to time to see what else they have got going for themselves, but I always end up back with the Smarties. Oreo isn’t bad, and i tried Kit Kat once but the Kit Kat was stale so now I am always afraid to give it a second chance.

Now a days there is more than just the DQ blizzard although DQ is the ones who started the blizzard trend. McDonals have their McFlurry’s now, and even Wendy’s have their frosties with bits in it. They are all alright in their own way, but DQ will always be the winner in my books.

I’m not too sure how my fascination of yachts came to be, but I honestly could sit and daydream about my life on a yacht for days after days. The strange thing is, is that I haven’t even really had a yacht experience. I think my first taste of a yacht was watching the movie Overboard staring Goldie Hawn. What a great movie. Everything that has to do with a yacht just seems so classy. The bedroom, the dinning, and of course if you own a yacht it comes along with a butler. This is my vision. The best part about it is that you are in the middle of no where. How can anyone possibly disturb you if you are in the middle of the water floating about doing your own thing. What can I say…Yachts are fun!

T-shirt courtesy of BustedTees

Lots of fun! So my dream is to own a beautiful massive yacht. It will probably live in Florida so it’s easy for me to get to, or maybe live around the Virgin Islands. Haven’t thought that far ahead yet, all I know is that i’m making my dream come true. This is why I play Cash for Life. Most I’ve even won though so far is 4 dollars. Have to work on that one.

This t-shirt actually makes me sad. It only seems like yesterday when i was bringing my film to motophoto and had to find something to do for an hour before i could check out all my pictures! You could get doubles, glossy or matte, border or no border, and then you would bring them home or over to your friends house and go through the lot. Waiting in anticipation to re-live your Friday night. Then there were always the surprise pictures where someone must have taken your camera for a period of time and taken all sorts of pictures you had no idea about! That doesn’t happen now, because you everyone out there has a digital camera. Not a good shot? Don’t worry, delete it and take it again. In some ways, I kind of miss the ghetto film.

Look at all the other troopers in this t-shirt. They have been completely taken over and they such good sports about it. Kind of makes me sad. The poor old VHS who is long gone, floppy disc who can pretty much never be used again, and the famous cassette tape. Do you think in about 20 years a DVD could be walking towards the ‘welcome’ sign? If so, what has replaced it and what did they call it? How are we listening to music in 20 years from now? Beacuse even now a days people hardly listen to cd’s. It’s all about your ipod. Even that is ridiculous. Music has been taken over by a company – not a product.

They will have to keep updating this shirt because VHS, tapes and films are not the only thing going extinct!

You know those days where you could just eat the world? This t-shirt reminds me of those days. Your not really hungry, but that doesn’t matter. Apparently, this hippo wasn’t hungry either! But that doesn’t matter, we still feed him those tiny white balls. I wonder if the purple hippo was never hungry either – he was the one I always played!
