Are Long Distance Relationships For Real?

I don’t really get the point of long distance relationships. I understand why it has to happen in certain instances, but don’t get really the overall idea. For it to be a long distance relationship, it has to have an end to it. With every long distance relationship, you wouldn’t be in one if it didn’t mean at some point, the two of you are going to have to live in the sample place.
