Tee of the Day: Some Choices Are Just Out of Reach

If anyone is familar with Scrubs, they are often wearing threadless tees on the show. Here is a picture of Zach Braff wearing Some Choices Are Just Out of Reach by Rocky Davies.

Rocky gave The Daily Tee some very interesting insight into the inspiration for his tee design.

“The idea for this shirt came as a
flash of insight. I had been looking at the details of this contest
(it was sponsored by Zach Braff and his movie, the Last Kiss.) I
watched the trailer for the Last Kiss and tried to use that as
inspiration for the design. I needed something that could be deep in
metaphor yet still playful and fun as a t-shirt. I wanted it to work
on different levels. That’s when it just hit me to do it as a vending
machine parody. It seemed perfect, our choices in life are like the
choices as we stand before a vending machine. Somethings are instant
pleasures, somethings have more substance, somethings seem just right
for our appetite at the moment and we go for them. Then as fate would
have it, the thing that we were so excited about and ready to enjoy
gets stuck, gets sidetracked, and we are left wanting. I know that
this may sound overboard for a simple t-shirt design (and it probably
is) but that’s what I was thinking in trying to reinterpret what I saw
of the movie into a t-shirt design. I wanted to capture something so
complex and turn it simple.”
