The Game Of Life

I don`t know about you but I`m a big fan of board games. I feel like they went through a really popular stage about 10 years ago when everyone always just played Board Games, then they disappeared for a while and almost because `loserish`and now it looks as though they are making a come back!

This t-shirt means one thing and one thing only to me. It doesn`t even need to have any writing on the shirt. I can tell right there that this t-shirt belongs to the game of Life. Now I am just going to admit that everyone has played the Game of Life. Who hasn`t? That’s almost like saying you have never played Sorry. Which by the way now that you think about it, wasn’t the most boring game ever?

So back to Life. You have a choice at the beginning of the game. Do you go and get a career? Or take the fast path and skip the career and hope to pick an amazing salary card without the career. I always used to take the career path. It only held you back a couple spaces.

Next, you go for the house. For some reason, I always got the choice between either the best but most expensive house, or the two dirty shacks. You didn’t have to actually live in it but you always still wanted the gorgeous place to live to show off. This was the game of Life! You wanted to live an older and sophisticaed pretend life through a game and got great satisfaction through it.

I hadn’t played Life in a while, and actually took it out a couple months ago to play with my sister. We were both amazed because we remembered this game to take almost the whole day to play. We were finished in about 25 minutes. We thought we had played wrong or didn’t play by the rules but no. I guess things change when you get older and a ‘pretend’ life when you are actually already half way through it isn’t as facinating.

I think I’ll stick to those games like Balderdash now that can never get old nor boring.
