Dropping Candies

If only it were that easy. Drop candies instead of bombs. Not a bad idea. For one, it would distract people. Soldiers would be confused, forget about war all of a sudden because their tummies would start to grumble, realize they are still alive and didn’t blow up by an explosive, and celebrate with candy! It’s like a war pinata!
Candy always means celebration. It’s such a treat. First of all, I don’t think there is anyone who doesn’t like candy. Sure, there may be some people who don’t have a sweet tooth and that’s ok. Weird, but ok. But even …read more
The Corn Girls

I really do. I love corn. But I really love corn on the cobb. Corn in a bowl from a can is good too, but nothing beats the biting into a nice fresh warm corn on the cobb that is dripping with butter and sprinkled with salt. You want corn on the cob right now – don’t you!
So I love corn so much that whenever I go up to a cottage, corn on the cobb comes with. It’s like we are buddies. A few weekends ago i was up at a cottage with a friend where we nicknamed ourselves ‘the …read more
What is it About Forts?

My last post was all about ones imagination and how having an imagination is so important no matter how old you are. This post is along similar lines. Building a fort!!!! Building a fort as a kid was one of the most fun activities imaginable. I always used to get my aunt to build a fort for me because she did it in these ugly brown couches we had but they were so flimsy I could never do it myself. I thought she has some special and magical power because she could always make the fort just right, and it …read more
Never Loose Your Imagination

I don’t care how old you are, you should never loose your imagination. Having an imagination is very important because it allows you to live dreams, have thoughts, and do things you may not necessarily do otherwise, and allows you to escape reality. Even people who have pretty sweet lives still need to ‘escape’ from time to time.
I have to admit, I’m still a pretty big kid at heart. I don’t want to grow up…I”m a Toys R Us kid. That doesn’t mean I sit at home and play with my barbies, but you know what? I bet I could …read more
Doughnut vs. Timbit

It seems like it was only yesterday when the excitement started about the new ‘timbit’ craze. What are these small balls of dough you say? Well, they are the middle of the doughnut! The middle of the doughnut had to go somewhere! Why waste the middle when it tastes so delicious. Why not turn them into something useful?
So the brilliant idea was born. Lets make the inside of the doughnut a mini doughnut itself and call it a timbit! The interesting thing about this though, is that timbits over the years have gradually gotten bigger and bigger to the point …read more

I would like to think of myself as one of those approachable types where if someone is feeling down or has a problem, they can come to me to talk, and I will listen. I think i’m pretty helpful and thoughtful, so why wouldn’t they come my way? I will do my best to try to give some advice, and always try to see the story or problem from their eyes. However, this always isn’t the easiest task. This is why I think this t-shirt is great. It is blunt, truthful, and straight to the point.
Sometimes, who really cares!? Geeze, …read more
Something to Write Home About

We have just had a long weekend here in Canada so everyone had Monday off. What a difference it makes when you have that extra day off from the weekend eh? Although, you always seem to think that you will notice a major difference and not being at the office for 3 whole days in a row is going to give you that extra break, but it never really does. Everyone also feels as though since you have those 3 days, you should do something with them and go away for it when really, it’s only an extra day from …read more
Habits and Behavior

It takes all sorts to make the world go round. Everyone is different and thank god. Although, because we all are different, we tend to not necessarily always understand one anothers’ ways and behaviors. You see or hear something and you think to yourself “I would never do that, how do they not know that that isn’t ok!” Well, that’s just the thing. They don’t know it’s not ok because to them, it is ok!
Obviously there are certain boundaries and no, killing someone or stealing a car is not ok and everyone should know that. I’m talking about the …read more
The British and Their Sayings…

My Father is British so we have quite a lot of family over in the UK so I may be a little bit more familiar when someone asks to use the ‘Lou’, or tells you that you must be ‘bloody’ joking. Their sayings are quite cute, and because I’m a sucker for the English accent, i LOVE hearing all their interesting expressions and different words that we haven’t a clue what they are saying. So I have a cousin staying with me that arrived last night with a few of her girlfriends and they have just been traveling around the …read more
Shoes in the Air

How come it is so common to see shoes dangling from the street cable wires? First of all, did they bring an extra pair of shoes that they could throw up in the air? Or did they just get sick or the shoes they were wearing in the first place and tossed them, or was it a prank and someone stole them and threw them so they would get stuck and never be retrieved. Beats me, but it definitely is a strange one.
I actually have heard a roomer about shoes being tied to the cable wires. Apparently, any place where …read more
