Andy Williams Still Searches For Donor

Andy Williams of the Real Salt Lake soccer club is looking for bone marrow donors for his wife Marcia Williams. She was diagnosed with leukemia a few months ago and has been told that chemo alone could not help, she needed the full bone marrow transplant.

However, after testing her marrow type they discovered that she has a rare chromosome in her marrow making it even harder to find a donor. To find someone with her exact type is literally like finding a needle in a haystack. Other soccer players in the MLS have been lining up at donor clinics in a mad dash to see if they have the rare marrow needed for Marcia.

Friends and family have been going through the records daily for updated donor lists and haven’t given up. With medical bill piling up Andy continues to play for his wife. If anyone wishes to help they can contact the Real Salt Lake club directly or have their marrow tested at a local hospital.
