I had a lot of posts in mind to write after this week’s matches, but they kept getting all muddled up in my head, and none of the ever happened. So I’ll summarize, as best I can. Anyway, I do love those bullet points.
- Woo hoo! Milan are through!
- Man U out. Ha! HA! HAHAHHAHAAA!!!! What’s that German word? Schadenfreund? Really, any language will work. I. Love. It.
- So, Rangers manage a draw against a weakened Inter side, go into the knockout round, and McLeish keeps his job. Well, whatever works I guess. It’s huge that he’s got a Scottish team into Europe, no doubt about that. But – correct me if I’m wrong here – are Rangers not still an obscene number of points off the SPL pace? Just checking.
- Speaking of Milan, goal hero Kaka told Sky Italia that Ancelloti “could’ve gone if there was a defeat against Schalke.” Hmm. I usually don’t much trust Tribal Football, but it’s a vaguely intriguing thought, particularly given McLeish’s and Ferguson’s instant post-match assurances that their jobs are safe.
In other news, Milan v Inter this weekend – surely one of the best five derbies in all of football.
