This is such a non-story. Beckham hasn’t said or done anything different than he’s said since he got back to the States in July. He would like to go to Milan until the World Cup, if possible, and come back to the Galaxy for the second half of the Galaxy season again next year, if possible. IF possible, which he’s also consistently said would be decided at the end of the MLS season.
Its getting more coverage now because Don Garber (MLS Commissioner) talked about it at a press conference last week, then the press asked Beckham about it after the next Galaxy practice (I saw the on-field interview clip). The English press particularly live for transfer rumors during international breaks (this week) because they only have one team in action to write about instead the two whole leagues that usually provide enough to fill their back pages.

This is a very one sided story. Siroki Brijeg police officer shot Sarajevo fan, killing him. The mob did not kill anybody. it was a fight between soccer fans, it happens all the time all around the world. just the croat police officer is what caused it to be a lot worse than needed.
So the Serbs were as usual completely innocent in the matter. And yes Ado bad stuff does happen all over the world. It just seems though that in the last 100 years a whole lot more has been happening in that part of the world.

I think this new ball technology or whatever is just ridiculous. Lets get things straight. Referees make mistakes. Every ref has made mistakes. These mistakes may even lead to game changing events, but you know what. It is part of the game. It may be an unfortunate part but bad calls are still part of the game and always have been. If we were to make something like this and use it, whose to say we dont have machines call handeling(hand balls) or off-sides. This changes, and may lead to even more changes, in the worlds greatest sport. I think we should leave the game how it is. And this is coming from a soccer player, as well as a referee.

this is a pretty bad idea, the only time this would be used is in the pros. By then refs make good money and dont need help reffing cause there professionals. Besides part of the game is reffing mistakes. I play and the refs make bad calls all the time. You know what the least amount of bad calls are made? the sideline because theres nothing hard about calling them. Handballs can be negotiable but the out of bounds is straightforward. Besides the sensors could be broken and call outs on small portions being off the field. Just let the reffing go to the refs

That’s precisely the point. When we see someone else doing something we don’t like, it doesn’t mean that we’re wrong for not liking it because we do it too.
Maybe we could take it a step further and ask ourselves what it is about what someone else is doing that we don’t like. And are we doing something just as bad in North America?
Look at animal resource consumption. Look at cross-contamination and pollution of animal origin. Look at obesity rates in the U.S. Look at the prevalence of diet-associated medical conditions and the costs of treating them. Look at factory farms: who benefits and who doesn’t? And we haven’t even gotten to the issue of animal ethics.
I may be a vegetarian soccer fan, but that doesn’t mean I think everyone should be like me. Rather than personalizing it, I think we just need to look at the facts. Killing a man or an animal in the street in a foreign land is just as wrong as doing it here behind closed doors. When we are sheltered from that sort of brutality, we don’t bother to think about where those chicken nuggets and quarter pounders came from before they were ground up and shaped into what some people call “food.” But that doesn’t change the fact that a living creature was killed on behalf of the consumer. When we buy meat, we participate in slaughter.
When the world comes together on the 2010 World Cup pitch, I’d rather not see it soaked with blood. (Literally, or otherwise.) They plan to sacrifice several cows. (Not just one.) And it is done is a particularly inhumane and grotesque fashion.
South Africa has been granted a great honor in hosting the event, and they could pick a more responsible way to represent their traditions without offending their guests – which happen to be every soccer fan on the planet.
