Frank Yallop, the coach for LA Galaxy of the Major Soccer League resigned. The decision to leave was announced to the team Sunday night after a charity game they played in behalf of the Southern California wildfire victims. So far rumors are that Yallop left for personal reasons.
David Beckham was reportedly disappointed with Yallop’s decision to leave.
“Obviously, we’re disappointed. We felt that he was the right man. We felt that he’s a good manager and a strong character with the team. But, we’ve all said, he’s not walking away. He’s looking after himself and he’s looking after his family. It’s what we would all do. We’re sad to see him leave and we wish him all the luck and all the best.” – Beckham
Yallop’s contract with LA Galaxy was apparently bought out by the San Jose Earthquakes, where he was head coach before. Yallop is a Canadian soccer star who was inducted in the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame in 2005. He is also the head coach for the Canadian national soccer team.

I personally don’t think I could ever be a coach particularly for those reasons. He’s got to do what’s right for his family and if that means resigning as coach then good for him for doing the right thing.
Only, thing is he sort of left his team hangin’.
In all honesty David Beckham’s arrival has not really helped Frank Yallop. To be fair nobody really expected much from the squad of players at the Home Depot Center until Becks turned up on a multi-million dollar contract. It may not have been the player’s fault but the media hype and expectations increased several fold and it has not really happened for them. I’m not shocked that Yallop walked.
