Mourinho v Wenger

Are there two more talented, intelligent managers anywhere in the Premiership? Doubtful. Until recently, Arsene Wenger had always carried himself with remarkable dignity and composure – and when he mouthed off in a sophisticated way and left Alex Ferguson sputtering with rage, so much the better. And despite Mourinho’s ego and absurd good looks, he’s won virtually everyone over with his sheer talent. Sure, the guy talks alot, but he always backs it up. At some point, you just have to take your hat off to him and grin when he brags.

So what’s on earth has gotten into the pair of them? I mean, honestly. They’re like a couple of 13 year-old girls, consumed by the popularity of one another but pretending not to look. Wenger, according to Mourinoh, is “obsessed” with Chelsea. Mourinoh, meanwhile, casually mentioned that he has a 120 page book full of quotes from Wenger about his club. A book. Of quotes. Who’s obsessed again?

On one hand, I actually respect them for being willing to answer endless questions about this absurd feud in the press. On the other, though, they both sound like complete spoiled brats every time they open their mouths – demanding coinciding apologies, talking about dictatorships and “taking action,” and then suddenly declaring it over and completely not personal. Please. At some point, shouldn’t ownership just step in and tell them both to shut up? The do, after all, have clubs to run. Not to mention reputations for intelligence and poise to salvage.

But oh I cannot wait until they play.
