Prince William Might Head English Bid For World Cup 2018

england_william The United States are making up their minds as to whether or not they want to put in their bid for host country of 2018 World Cup. England has made it clear that they believe that they deserve the honour of hosting but that hasn’t stopped other countries from including themselves.

England may not have impressed the FIFA executive committee by not even qualifying for the Euro Cup, but they plan to make it up by having Prince William lead the schmoozng process.

Having secured football royalty by paying a king’s ransom for Fabio Capello, the Football Association are now seeking to sign the real thing, targeting Prince William to front up the 2018 World Cup bid. We understand initial feelers have already been put out to Buckingham Palace to see if HRH would be willing to do what Seb Coe did for the successful Olympic bid. The FA know they need a big hitter to impress the star-struck Fifa electorate and William, who is president of the FA and supposedly an Aston Villa fan, seems ideal. Fifa’s president, Sepp Blatter, has said that he wants an Olympic-style bidding process, and the FA have discussed with Lord Coe the best way of going about it. Coe, who chairs Fifa’s ethics committee, is obviously otherwise engaged with 2012 or else he might have been offered the role himself, but he will be used as an adviser. If William cannot oblige,Gary Lineker and David Beckham are other names in the frame, with "special envoy" Richard Caborn, the former sports minister, riding shotgun. But the FA hope that Prince William will be striking up front.

Whatever they need to do to win the bid is fine with me. The World Cup needs to return to England!

I hope this bid is much more successful than the Countries attempts to lure the World Cup back home for 2006 and the early signs are good.
Franz Beckenbauer has already given his blessing to the bid alongside Sepp Blatter and with a Prince spearheading the proposal surely England stand a great chance of clinching the honour.
Since that bid the new Wembley has been built as well as Arsenal’s new Ashburton Grove and by the time the tournament comes around teams such as Liverpool, Everton and even possibly Chelsea may all have new homes so perhaps this time might, just might be the time football comes home.

well i think Johan Cruijff is a better man for the bidding as the prince but that’s my opinion
