Ronaldo’s Legs Fetch For $144 Million

It’s normal that if you posses something valuable you insure it, right? Well in some soccer news today Real Madrid announced that they have insured their new star player Cristiano Ronaldo’s legs, for an estimated $144 million.

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo get's $144 million leg insurance policy
Claiming to have insured his legs for that amount could seem excessive. If I were Ronaldo I’d be afraid of not always being the best player for Real Madrid. I mean if he for some reason doesn’t perform all that well couldn’t the managers have him attacked and break his legs to collect the insurance? I saw that on The Sopranos once where he killed a horse because it was costing him too much money. Also, isn’t a soccer player more than just legs. Last I saw pro-soccer players have a head and arms. So shouldn’t they insure more than just his legs, like maybe the head too? What if he gets a concussion? Then what? Does the insurance company say – ’sorry guys, you had leg insurance’.
Sorry, I just think this whole thing is funny. People are getting insured as if they are possessions. Life insurance I understand but taking out specific policies on body pieces seems odd to me. does the insurance cover scratches or bruises? What about grass stains?
I don’t know maybe I’m just crazy. I’m glad for Real Madrid though for having enough money to put together a great team this year.
By the way, how much do you believe your legs are worth?
