this is a pretty bad idea, the only time this would be used is in the pros. By then refs make good money and dont need help reffing cause there professionals. Besides part of the game is reffing mistakes. I play and the refs make bad calls all the time. You know what the least amount of bad calls are made? the sideline because theres nothing hard about calling them. Handballs can be negotiable but the out of bounds is straightforward. Besides the sensors could be broken and call outs on small portions being off the field. Just let the reffing go to the refs

Personaly i think this is a cool idea but the reff should decide the call because, if the reff decides the ball is out then its out. If the refferee decides its not than it isnt technology should not take over you should rely on the reffs judgement not the ball.

I think this new ball technology or whatever is just ridiculous. Lets get things straight. Referees make mistakes. Every ref has made mistakes. These mistakes may even lead to game changing events, but you know what. It is part of the game. It may be an unfortunate part but bad calls are still part of the game and always have been. If we were to make something like this and use it, whose to say we dont have machines call handeling(hand balls) or off-sides. This changes, and may lead to even more changes, in the worlds greatest sport. I think we should leave the game how it is. And this is coming from a soccer player, as well as a referee.

Of course not. I mean, I don't know anything about this ball, but why would you even think that that wouldn't occur to them?

This is unnecessary and a complete waste of money. Adidas' new soccer balls cost 140 alone, without this new material. Perhaps it could be good so refs can't cheat and throw off a game. There will be sensors placed in the out of bounds and they will go off when the material inside of the ball crosses the out of bounds, thats how it works

I understand the need for new tech. However I feel the more tech that goes into the rules, the less it becomes raw. I think baseball is a great example of of bad calls being a part of the game. I like the human error of the game, and it gets my blood pumping when something is called wrong. I like that about all sports. I don't like American football because everyone can contest anything, and it seems that they have to go to the replay for every close call. I a=have a great love for soccer, but I'm not going to kill a ref for missing at out of bounds call. Besides we also have linesmen with a perfect vantage point. What happens when they see it as out, but the ball doesnt go off?

On the other side...if we can completely replace the ref, what will happen to all the acting on the field?

All of you morons who keep saying how stupid this is and how it maked refs not required aren't very intelligent in the game of soccer. because there is so much more that the ball can't tell and it helps refs be able to focus more on things that are easy to miss like off sides and shoving etc. so this one invention overall helps create a more fair game

for someone named soccer star you're pretty stupid when it comes to soccer because in select and pro refs make mistakes so this is a genuis idea for high level championship matches because how would you feel if the player went out of bounds and scored on you and the refs missed it?
