Homeless World Cup

The Homeless World Cup is charitable organization that helps homeless soccer players around the world get back on their feet. Every year they organize a ‘World Cup’ match between nations and this year the games were held in Milan, Italy and involved 48 countries.

With the games wrapped up on September 13 organizers were thrilled by the success of the event and are already organizing next years games. But they need help, funding for a charitable world event is not easy, so soccer fans around the world have decided to pitch in.

Beckham Commercial ‘Malaria No More’

David Beckham has always been a supporter of worthy causes around the world. His most recent charitable commercial was done for ‘Malaria No More’ an organization that helps supply mosquito nets for people in Africa.

Sleeping with a mosquito net is the single best way to prevent the spread of malaria. They cost pennies to make, but for some families the net is considered a luxury they just cannot afford.

On average 350 – 500 million new cases of malaria are reported each year. Of those 1 million will die. The majority of deaths occur in the sub-Sahara region in Africa.

Nancy Dell’Olio Ships Soccer Balls To Afghanistan

Nancy Dell’Olio, the famous Italian-American girlfriend of Football Manager Tycoon Sven-Göran Eriksson over see’s charity project.

She posed for a few shots with photographers when she was at the Colchester Barracks, Essex, UK overseeing the charity project she helped put together. The charity helped gather soccer balls that will be shipped to Afghanistan for the war tattered children. Soccer used to be apart of the countries famous pastime before the Taliban took over the government in the mid 90’s. By rebuilding some of the soccer stadiums and bringing soccer balls to children it is hoped that the lives of ordinary people can go back to normal.
