Manchester United took home the title of newest Club World Cup winners after their 1-0 victory over Ecuador’s Liga de Quito Sunday December 21, 2008. It was looking like a scoreless game before Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney scored a late goal. The point landed Rooney the winner of the Tournament Player of the Year Award.
