Beckham Shoots California Travel Commercial

David Beckham was the star at the beach today. Film crews and curious fans surrounded the LA Galaxy star to catch him doing what he does best… pose for the camera. They filmed him taking several soccer ball kicks into the ocean for a new travel California commercial. The California commercial from last season is credited for helping California’s travel industry rebound as more and more people are deciding to stay home for the summer. With the economy the way it is, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to get people to bathe in the California sun. That’s why a little celebrity endorsement doesn’t hurt.

David Beckham

Apparently Beckham was asked by the governor Schwarzenegger himself to help in the new travel California campaign. Other celebrity endorsements for the commercial include Rob Lowe, Vanessa Williams, and Cesar Millan. The commercial will air in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom after its September 21st premier launch.

I suppose this means that the Beckham’s are honorary California citizens now.

Nike: “Take It To The Next Level”

Nike always seems to come up with great soccer commercials. This new one titled “Take It To The Next Level” is a snippet cronology of a unknown player living out his dream of a soccer supper-star.

Here’s the official blockquote.

The ad follows the fortunes of an unknown teenager who is plucked from a youth team game by Arsene Wenger and ends up starring for Arsenal and Holland.

Beckham Commercial ‘Malaria No More’

David Beckham has always been a supporter of worthy causes around the world. His most recent charitable commercial was done for ‘Malaria No More’ an organization that helps supply mosquito nets for people in Africa.

Sleeping with a mosquito net is the single best way to prevent the spread of malaria. They cost pennies to make, but for some families the net is considered a luxury they just cannot afford.

On average 350 – 500 million new cases of malaria are reported each year. Of those 1 million will die. The majority of deaths occur in the sub-Sahara region in Africa.
