Cristiano Ronaldo Plays First Game Back

Cristiano Ronaldo Played his first game back with Real Madrid today. He came back just in time to play a Champions League match against the FC Zurich club. The game ended in a 1-0 victory in favor for Real Madrid. Ronaldo was put in late in the game after they already had the one point lead.

Ronaldo has been on hiatus for the past two months after suffering a minor ankle injury. The coach only played Ronaldo for 25 minutes in the second half just to get his legs back into the game. No one expected him to operate at his optimal performance but many are hoping that Ronaldo will be back to his old playing self in time to win the Champions League title as well as play for his home country of Portugal in the World Cup Qualifiers.

Ronaldo Sneaking Into Portugal World Cup

Helping your country qualify for the World Cup Games should normally be an honor, however in the case of an injured player like Cristiano Ronaldo, he has to get the clear from his team before playing. After injuring his ankle a few months ago he’s been on the bench, watching his other Real Madrid team mates play.

But now all of a sudden he’s up and ready to play when his home country of Portugal calls on him to help them get through the World Cup Qualifying matches. Without Ronaldo who knows if they’d be able to bring it but it is proving to be highly unfair for the general managers of Real Madrid who forked out $148 million to have him on their team. Portugal on the other hand will pay him nothing.

Sorry Ronaldo but when it comes to loyalty you have to go with the one’s who are paying you more. You made the choice of loyalty when you signed a contract with Real Madrid, they should then be alowed to dictate what you do to suite their best interests. You are a product now and they own you.

Ronaldo Suffers From Performance Anxiety

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has been showing signs of cracking. The new soccer hero of Madrid has been recently diagnosed with performance anxiety. Meaning that he suffers from panic attacks before games. It was one thing to be the top dog for Manchester United but now that he’s with Real Madrid he feels as if he has to perform at his best at all times to warrant his $132 million paycheck.

Co-striker Kaka on the other hand is said to be more laid back and relaxed on the field. The contrast between the two doesn’t show when they are playing, though fans do catch glimpses of Ronaldo’s competitive nature when he misses a goal.

Ronaldo was always seen as being highly competitive and serious about his soccer career. He shocked fans after getting into a serious accident in his Ferrari, walked away and went strait away to practice.

Well lets hope that for Real Madrid sake he can calm himself down a bit. His anxiety might just be a symptom of his age, being that he may be able to relax a bit as he gets older. This is a good lesson though for anyone who plays competitive sports – play for fun and deal with whatever success comes if it does. There’s no need to take it so seriously, you’re not curing cancer or achieving world peace.

Ronaldo & Kaka Prove Their Worth

Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká have been able to prove their worth for Real Madrid after playing against Villareal in the Spanish League, September 23, 2009. The game ended 2-0 with the only two goals being put in by Ronaldo and Kaká.

The $233 million salary between the two of them might be worth it after all. The only problem however is that since when does winning games mean more revenue produced. Money is made by advertisers. Ads are placed when something is popular. So in theory Real Madrid is hoping that their undefeatable dream team will produce a strong viewership. The LA Galaxy believed the same thing when they acquired David Beckham, but he’s barely been able to increase soccer’s popularity in the United States. If anything the Seattle Sounders are more popular beacuse of their great XBOX 360 jerseys.

Real Madrid $483 Million In Debt

The Real Madrid CF soccer club has revealed their financial records showing record breaking debts. The Spanish club showed that they are at least €327 million in debt ($443 million US) after going on a spending spree with new star players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Raul Albiol.

The four star players have a newly combined salary of €217 million ($324 million US), making up a huge portion of the debt. The spending spree came just after Florentino Perez became the new president of Real Madrid. Like a true businessman Perez defended the spending on the grounds that you have to spend money to make money, and he believes that his new team can make more money now than ever. Well good luck with that Real Madrid. Though wouldn’t it be embarrassing if they didn’t win any championships? Sometimes putting together a ‘dream team’ is counter productive as they all try to hog the spotlight rather than work as a team.

After winning his first Champions League game with his new home team of Real Madrid last night, he felt like he was on top of the world. And after winning the game 5-2 against FC Zurich he is now certain that his trade to Milan was the best move he’s ever made in his life. The team fans have embraced their new star as well as all of the other dream players. Setups by Ronaldo and Pele it’s hard not to score a few goals.

Despite the fame end glory. Ronaldo stays true to himself reaffirming to reporters that he is a respectable person who likes to stay out of the spotlight. After being called a mama’s boy by Paris Hilton it’s hard to see how he recovered from such a public social blow. He now says that he is proud of the way he is and wants to be a role model for all young aspiring soccer players.

Ronaldo & Bolt Unite In Madrid 2016 Bid

Cristiano Ronaldo and superstar sprinter Usain Bolt united in a press conference announcing that they both endorsed a 2016 Madrid Olympic bid. The endorsement comes as a huge bonus for Madrid as Bolt was the star on the track at the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. He won three gold medals in Beijing and broke a world record making him the fastest man in the world. Not surprising why his nickname is “Lightning Bolt”.

Other cities in the running for the 2016 Olympic games are Chicago, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. The final decision by the IOC committee will be announced in Copenhagen on October 4th, 2009. If Chicago stands any chance of winning the bid they better get Michael Phelps and Michael Jordan in there petitioning.

At the press conference they posed for a arm wrestle that Bolt made clear Ronaldo would win at. And then they both posed in the famous Bolt point.

I feel creepy writing about this but after reading TMZ.com’s article about Cristiano Ronaldo newest topless photos I decided to finally get a real survey done on this topic. Without trying to lead you on or change your vote, I’d just like to say that Ronaldo is younger than Beckham – Beckham has a large amount of ridiculous tattoos, and he sounds like Harry Potter. So keep that in mind when voting on your favorite European soccer stud.

Real Madrid’s Washington DC 3-0 Shutout

It almost seemed as if Real Madrid were human when they failed to plant any goals into DC United’s net during the first half of the match last night. DC goal tender Josh Wicks made some amazing saves that stunned both fans and Real Madrid strikers alike.

72,368 fans made it to the FedEx Fields in Washington DC Sunday night to catch a glimpse at Real Madrid’s MLS tour. They played Toronto FC which ended in a 5-1 attack. After realizing what the typical MLS teams were up against it wasn’t surprising that they won last nights game with Washington. What was surprising was that they were able to fend them off for the first half of the game.

Though last nights game ended in a 3-0 shutout (excuse my hockey lingo) it was still great to see a great MLS player like Josh Wicks find out what he’s made of. And at the end of the day that’s what this friendly Real Madrid tour is all about. Playing against the best to see what you are capable of.

Toronto FC Goes Full Out For Real Madrid

Everyone is gearing up for an epic match of the Toronto FC verses Real Madrid. With the recent acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid are believed to be the best team in the world right now.

In preparation for the game Toronto’s home, the BMO Fields are covered their false turf with sod. The turf is always criticized by international players as being hard to play on and was a requirement for Real Madrid’s visit.

18,000 Torontonians showed up at the BMO Fields last night to watch Ronaldo and team practice. The show of support must have been exciting for a team who did not expect much out of their Canadian visit.

After the two play their friendly match tonight the sod will be removed and donated to help construct more soccer field in Ontario.
