The Montreal Impact felt like they were duped when they withdrew their bid for a MLS franchise after finding out that the MLS is charging a $40 million expansion fee. The Impact could have been playing in the MLS by 2011 had they followed through with the deal. However, not all is lost for the Canadian soccer team.
Their hopes of being added to the MLS have been renewed after MLS commissioner Don Garber extended his desire to have Montreal added as the 18th team to the league. The hopes are that they will be able to expand to a well …read more

Real Salt Lake has been in this position before. Last year they won the MLS Eastern Conference but lost the final game. This year Real Salt Lake faces the Los Angeles Galaxy for the coveted MLS Cup. David Beckham has pledged to continue helping the Galaxy towards a victory despite Team England needing him for the World Cup Qualifiers.
The two teams have an impressive resume this year so it will be interesting to see how everything unfolds. The LA Galaxy have won the MLS Cup twice in their franchise history first time was in 2002 and then again in 2005. …read more

David Beckham promised himself that he would play for every England national soccer game. With over a hundred games played Beckham now holds the record for most games played with England. However his commitments with England will have to be on hold now that the LA Galaxy have made it to the Western Finals in the MLS.
The LA Galaxy kept the MLS Cup dreams alive by beating Chivas USA. They will now face Houston in the finals. In Beckham’s contract he give priority to all England games except in the event of a MLS playoff. Not sure why missing this …read more

David Beckham is starting it all over again. He’s talking to LA Galaxy club coach and managers about his desire to be loaned out to AC Milan for another season. While Beckham’s last visit to Milan lasted longer than agreed upon, he returned to a team who acted like they didn’t want him back. In fact he even got fined for a confrontation he participated in against the infamous LA Riot Squad who heckled his loyalty at during a exhibition game.
Beckham says that he needs to play for AC Milan to be considered for the Team England spot during the …read more
Is Beckham Still a Hope For MLS?

Jeff Baker at New University wrote an interesting article today about David Beckham and his contributions (or lack thereof) to the development of soccer in North America. It’s true that this is a tough market to crack. We seem to love technical games like football and baseball or fighting games like boxing, ultimate fighting, wrestling and hockey. If you put those two together soccer represents a game we wouldn’t enjoy. Low scoring easy to understand games with players acting like pansy’s in the field.
Jeff Baker argued that Beckham was acquired by the LA Galaxy as a promotional tool …read more
David Beckham Goes Trekkie For New Ad

It seems that David Beckham will do anything these days to be in an advertisement. I would have expected more underwear posters but this time it will be in a Star Trek outfit. Beckham and Noel Gallagher of Oasis were seen at a London photoshoot dressed as undisclosed Start Treck Characters.
It’s still unknown what the commercial was for except that it will involve Beckham, Gallagher, Ian Brown, Snoop Dogg, Agyness Deyn and Daft Punk. Sounds like a real mix matched bunch to me. I should also mention that the ad is being done by adidas though that hardly means anything. …read more

If you read this blog often you’ll notice that I am of course a soccer fan but that I love the Montreal Impact and the Bordeaux Girondins. So when I heard the news that David Beckham was interested in being part owner of the Montreal Impact and helping them find their way into the MLS I nearly hit the roof.
David Beckham has it in his contract that he could purchase a MLS team in 2012. That’s not saying that he’ll be playing for the Impact but that his expertise in the game could help them in the league.

David Beckham was the star at the beach today. Film crews and curious fans surrounded the LA Galaxy star to catch him doing what he does best… pose for the camera. They filmed him taking several soccer ball kicks into the ocean for a new travel California commercial. The California commercial from last season is credited for helping California’s travel industry rebound as more and more people are deciding to stay home for the summer. With the economy the way it is, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to get people to bathe in the California sun. That’s why a little …read more
Final Hotty Showdown: Ronaldo or Beckham?

I feel creepy writing about this but after reading TMZ.com’s article about Cristiano Ronaldo newest topless photos I decided to finally get a real survey done on this topic. Without trying to lead you on or change your vote, I’d just like to say that Ronaldo is younger than Beckham – Beckham has a large amount of ridiculous tattoos, and he sounds like Harry Potter. So keep that in mind when voting on your favorite European soccer stud.
So who will it be? Should David Beckham take home the hottest prize award or should Cristiano Ronaldo?

Beckham: Your Opinion?

Times Online reported the other day that David Beckham was booed off of the field after getting an uncontested red card for a deliberate tackle on Pete Vagenas of Seattle Sounders FC. People there said that they were not booing Beckham but were responding to the red card call. Most people believe that the red card was uncalled for.
After reading the comments on the article I noticed that the feelings are split. Some believe that David Beckham is slowly giving up his game while others think that he is doing the best he can with what he’s working with. …read more
