]]> The 2009 UEFA Cup Final was just held in Istanbul, Turkey yesterday March 21, 2009 and the winner is… Ukrainian soccer club Shakhtar Donetsk! They were able to defeate the German team Werder Bremen after a score in extra time.

The game was 1-1 for the lonest time causing them to go into extra time yesterday evening. In a quick shake of luck and skill Shakhtar Donetsk’s midfielder Jadson, put in the winning goal making the final score 2-1.

Just in case you didnt hear, the second tier league that the UEFA Cup crowns champions will be renamed the Europa League next season.
