English Football association (FA) head Ian Watmore, has stated that he believes the UEFA should leave players salaries free to the open market. This comes just days after the UEFA has expressed their concern that European soccer players are being paid too much and that there needs to be a cap on a clubs spending.

Well it was bound to happen – and it seems like it is going to happen. The UEFA is finally concerned that players are getting paid too much money. With players getting some of the highest paid sports contracts in the world only clubs with deep pockets are able to compete.

FIFA and WADA Come To Agreement

FIFA and the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) have come to an agreement this week over new screening rules imposed on high profile players.
The players union have complained to FIFA and the UEFA that the new WADA rules were unrealistic and restrictive. As of January 1st WADA implemented a new rule that asked that players divulge their off-season travel plans to the association months in advance. The rule left little for spontaneity, unrealistic especially if you are the type of person who likes to just take off to the Caribbean.

Soccer Not Happy With New Anti-Doping Rule

The UEFA and FIFA exchanged heated comments with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) yesterday after realizing the significance of a new January 2009 rule.
The rule basically states that every high level player must comply to give drug-testers three months’ notice of their location for one hour each day. FIFA and UEFA officials have stated that the new rule makes it impossible for players to enjoy their already very short summer vacation.
WADA has basically stated that the players have to either comply or be reported and that renegotiations of terms could be discussed for next year.
