Canada Loses, USA Continues Gold Cup Run

The CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals are being held in Philadelphia this year and it just seemed like the magic left the Canadian team. On Saturday they played against Honduras and lost 1-0. USA continued in a spectacular match that left Panama wondering what happened.
The USA will now advance to the semifinals rounds that will be held in the great city of Chicago. The crows are expected to supersede the over 30,000 fans who showed up at the Philadelphia match.

USA Invites Iran To Friendly Soccer Match

The United States have only just yesterday announced their 24 world cup team roster. Now it seems that they are already trying to mix sports with politics.
The US national team organizers have contacted the Iranian National team to partner up in a friendly match. The match, while a good idea to help get the team used to playing together, may also be a great way for the US to mend ties with Iran.

U.S.A. Names FIFA World Cup Team

The national US team has announced their roster for the 2010 FIFA qualifying matches. USA Coach Bob Bradley has revealed to reporters the names of the 24 players he has chosen and have accepted to represent their country in the world’s biggest sporting event.
Team USA are set to face Costa Rica on June 3rd in Estadio Saprissa for their first qualifying match. Then they will face off against Honduras in Chicago on June 6th. The 24 member team are as follows.

Canada Women Will Face USA Twice

The Canadian Soccer Association has announced today that their women’s team will face the United States in a World Cup qualifying match. This will be the first time since the Olympic Games that the two countries have had to face each other.
The games will take place Sunday 19 July in Rochester, NY and Wednesday 22 July in Charleston, SC. The Canadian women’s next World Cup match will be held on Monday May 25 at the BMO Fields in Toronto against Japan. For tickets contact ticketmaster.ca or 416.872.5000.
