Whitecaps lose 1-0 to Timbers

The Vancouver Whitecaps folded 1-0 to the Portland Timbers in last night’s game. The Whitecaps FC were scored on at the 30 minute mark by Portland’s Ryan Pore after receiving a great pass from Keita.
Vancouver slipped to 6 place in the United Soccer League 1 standings as a result of their loss. Their 7-8-4 record isn’t impressing the Major League Soccer Association who have decided to add the Whitecaps to the MLS in 2011.
It was assumed that Vancouver was awarded access to the MLS because of their world status and the fact that they will host the Winter Olympic Games.

Whitecaps Beat Impact 2-0

The Vancouver Whitecaps have much to prove as they are now preparing themselves for entry into the MLS in 2012. The Whitecaps weren’t able to thwart the Toronto FC in the first Canadian Championship games, but they did manage to beat the Montreal Impact last night.
The Montreal Impact are the reigning champions of last years Nutrilite Canadian Championship but that doesn’t seem to be working in their favour this year.
The Impact and Whitecaps faced off in Montreal in a near capacity crown of 11,483 at the Saputo Stadium. The crown were left disappointed after allowing in two goals making the …read more

Toronto Squashes Whitecaps in First Canadian Championship game

Toronto FC defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0 in the opening Nutrilite Canadian Championship games. Toronto had allot to prove as they are currently the only Canadian team in the coveted MLS. Vancouver will be joining in 2011 but the Montreal Impact will have to wait their turn.

Montreal won the Canadian Championship last year with Toronto barely defeating Vancouver for the send spot. With only three teams competing for the title that’s a huge deal. The next Nutrilite Canadian Championship game will be on May 27th in Vancouver (Whitecaps FC-Impact), June 2nd in Vancouver (Whitecaps FC-Toronto FC), and June 18th …read more

Toronto FC to face Whitecaps in Canadian Championships

For Canada however the two teams have been matched again for the Nutrilite Canadian Championship games.
Last year Toronto FC won with Montreal Impact in second and the Vancouver Whitecaps trailing in third. Having beaten Montreal for the 2012 MLS bid they have allot to prove. Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto are the only three teams to compete in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship.

Vancouver Whitecaps To Join MLS In 2011

Another soccer team has officially been added to the 2011 MLS season roster. The Vancouver Whitecaps have won the bit that came down to just four teams.

I guess that since the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held in Vancouver, B.C. some of the stadiums will easily be converted for pro-soccer use. As a Canadian I am very excited for the canuck addition. Wish it had been Montreal but I guess soccer fans out west should get a team too.
Way to go Canada.
