The 2010 World Cup in South Africa looms ever closer as teams from around the world compete for a chance to play in the worlds most prestigious sporting event. The FIFA World Cup Games begin on June 1th this summer and will run until July 11th. Only 32 nations will be honored enough to play in the games. And the tail keeps getting shorter as the qualifiers are disqualifying teams.

Italy & Germany Are Going To The World Cup

It was decided in today’s game that Germany and Italy will be joining the ranks of other countries who have made it into the World Cup qualifying matches. Denmark as well as Serbia can be proud to also have the chance to play in the World Cup after beating out France. So far, the countries that still remain undecided are Switzerland and Slovakia, whose fate will be decided this Wednesday.

N. Korea Qualifies For 2010 World Cup

Stranger things have happened I suppose. This week North Korea tied Saudi Arabia and qualified for the 2010 World Cup games in South Africa.
After a well played defensive game, North Korea tied it 0-0 with the middle east country. North Korea are the fourth Asian League team to qualify for the 2010 World Cup as they will be joining Australia, Japan and South Korea. This is the first time since 1966 that they qualified for the world’s largest sporting event.

England Massacres Kazakhstan Soccer Team

England is proving that they want the World Cup bad. They defeated Kazakhstan yesterday 4-0 in Almaty, the capitol city of Kazakhstan.
England has now gone 6 games in the World Cup Qualifiers, winning all of them. Going undefeated is a good start for a team set on winning the cup one more time for England.
England has only won the World Cup once in 1966 when they hosted the event.

U.S.A. Names FIFA World Cup Team

The national US team has announced their roster for the 2010 FIFA qualifying matches. USA Coach Bob Bradley has revealed to reporters the names of the 24 players he has chosen and have accepted to represent their country in the world’s biggest sporting event.
Team USA are set to face Costa Rica on June 3rd in Estadio Saprissa for their first qualifying match. Then they will face off against Honduras in Chicago on June 6th. The 24 member team are as follows.
