Team Canada Kicks Off FIFA World Cup Qualifiers In Montreal

The Canadian Soccer Association has announced that the national team will kick off its FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match in Montreal at the Stade Saputo June 20, 2008. Team Canada will be playing against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines of the Quebec Soccer Association professional league.

“The City of Montreal and the whole province of Québec are very proud to host the very first home match of the Canadian men’s team as it starts on the road to qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa” – Dino Madonis, president of the Quebec Soccer Federation.

Team Canada has qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and it is the hopes of all Canadians that they will do well qualifying for the 2010 South Africa World Cup.
