Team India Wins Nehru Cup

The Indian National Football team won the Nehru Cup today.
At a time when India was falling in the FIFA rankings, the Nehru Cup victory came as a tonic and the administrators began talking of improving the game in the country.
Even though team India was ranked somewhere in the 160s in the December FIFA rankings they still managed to beat out the favourite team Syria in the five nation tournament. The final game ended in a 1-0 victory. Now India has something to brag about and hopes of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup seems almost possible. Good Luck India!
