All of us here at the B5 Sports channel are listing the ten reason why we like the sports we blog about. So here are my Ten Reasons Why I Love Soccer.
1. Anyone can play soccer: A simple sport that anyone can play. All you need is something to kick around. Hey, the Brits used cans at first.
2. Not complicated to play: Unlike other games where its complexities distract from the game, soccer is simple and easy for anyone to follow.
3. Best Workout of your life: Beats any other sport in terms of physical fitness. Doesn’t matter how strong you are if you don’t have the endurance you won’t keep up.

4. Source of national pride: A great example of this is Iraq. Even though their country was in shreds they still managed to piece together a national soccer team to represent in the Summer Olympics. I remember when they came out during the opening ceremony and received a standing ovation, very touching.
5. Great way to meet people: Doesn’t matter what language you speak soccer is a great way to get to know people in a different country.
6. You can play soccer anywhere: Grass, sand, concrete or bedroom floor, you can kick the ball around anywhere.
7. You can play solo: Unlike baseball or American football, you need someone to practice with. Soccer can be played with someone or by yourself. Meaning, you can play anytime.
8. Soccer is truly a world sport: Soccer is played internationally. The world’s most popular sport baby!
9. Soccer isn’t just a spectator sport: Soccer is fun to watch and play.
10. Equipment is cheap: Well inexpensive is what I mean. All you need are shoes and a ball.

soccer is not just a game itself. its all about the passion n the deep love for the sport. wherever u go, people will talk about soccer. its nt surprising that it is the number one sport in the world.
Soccer is truly a world sport
No soccer is not truly a world sport. In fact, most people outside of America and Australia even are not familiar with the term “soccer”. They just know football and football is in their blood.
Does it matter what you call it? And last I remember they play soccer in the Unites States.
soccer is the definition of a world sport. truthfully the usa is no comparison to spain, england or any other foreign countries, where soccer is everyones passion, either watching or playing it. you dont see lacrosse pretty much anywhere else besides the east coast (maryland) of the usa.
I’m only ten years old but still, soccer is my life. I would give up anything to be a world famous player! I had to give up one of my best hobbie’s for soccer, and I agree with every word Jyle was saying.
Thanks Abbie.
I’m old and English, my ancestors used a pigs bladder not a tin can. And thanks to the new world for rubber.
Hope Abbie makes it.
We also came up with the word soccer (short for association).
Hope you’re enjoying Euro 2008, i’m not , take care.
I liked reason #5. Great way to meet people:
It’s amazing how soccer can be a conversation starter with anyone from around the world. With a blog about soccer it’s amazing all the people you meet from around the world.
Soccer is not just a sport it is much more…
nah basketball FOR THE WIN
I’m doing an essay on soccer……I think what you’ve said, Jyle, is really the true meaning of soccer/football or whatever its called around the world……And if you don’t mind it i’d like to use your reasons as an example why people love soccer so much…..And i myself am a soccer fan!
Go ahead and quote me VJane. Thanks.
can i also have permission to use ur wonderful reasons for my essay. thnks for putting them up.
If you love it so much, then call it by its real name: Football. I can understand the fact that it would be confusing to call both sports Football, but what bothers me is that even when adressing to foreign people (who don’t even know what “soccer” is), you still call it Soccer. Seriously, we all call it Football, it’s football, it involves kicking a ball, call it Football for God’s sake.
