Team Egypt defended their title as the winners of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations Champions.
Egypt beat Cameroon 1-0 making it their 6th continental title. EPL Talk has more on the game.

Africa Cup of Nations 2008 Recap

The Africa Cup of Nations 2008 in Ghana has already finished it’s 11 day. Wow, how time flies. We have some news that the Group C Standings are decided and it went to Egypt with 7 points, +5 goal differential. Second was Cameroon with 6 points, a +5 goal differential. Zambia and Sudan have been eliminated from their chance at the cup, hey maybe next time.
In group D Angola and Tunisia are dominating so it will be interesting to see how well they can duke it out. They are saying that both teams seem to be equally matched so …read more

Ivory Coast vs. Benin – Video Highlights

Ivory Coast’s resounding 4-1 victory over Benin at the African Nations Cup helped them move to the top of Group B, making them strong contenders for the quarter-finals. 
Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure scored late in the first half with Kader Keita and Aruna Dindane solidified the soccer club’s easy win.

2008 Africa Cup of Nations: Day 3

It’s day three into the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations and there has been a few surprising developments. In Group C Cameroon, the defending champions, have been put into a tight spot after their 4-2 loss to Egypt yesterday. They will now have to fight their way out in the quarter-finals. Also, in yesterday’s game Zambia beat Sudan 3-0

The 26th Africa Cup of Nations Starts Despite Missing Top Players

The 26th Africa Cup of Nations began today, January 20, 2008. Many key players from around the world showed up to support their home countries to prove that their hearts were still in Africa. Though despite the attendance many important players are missing from the rosters.
France’s Patrick Vieira grew up in Senegal; Makelele  who also lives in France was born in Kinshasa DR Congo; Gerald Asamoah lives in Germany but is originally from Ghana.

Africa Cup of Nations Begins January 20

Anxiety levels are high as Africa braces itself for another round of Cup of Nations starting January 20, 2008.
After months of preparation, Accra will be the focus of attention on Sunday when the hosts begin their quest for glory by taking on Guinea at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

The game will mark the first of 32 across four of Ghana’s major cities including Kamasi, Tamale, Sekondi-Takoradi and the capital itself.
