Starting in India, Sony will launch their PS3 FIFA Interactive World Cup 08 Tournament. Winner of that leg will be flown to Germany where they will continue the competition. The winner will receive a $20 000 cash prize. Not a bad payoff for being a soccer couch potato.

16,000 World Cup Ticket Giveaway

First National Bank, the official South African bank of the 2010 World Cup will be giving away 16,000 tickets to the matches. The announcement came today in a press conference in Johannesburg, by the CEO of First National Bank, Michael Jordaan. Tickets have already been given away through a bank staff lottery.

The ticket giveaway is part of a larger promotional scheme to “bring the games to the people.” By bringing a stir in South Africa, they are helping people realize that in under 1000 days the worlds biggest sporting event will be in their backyard.

‘FIFA 08′ Video Game

‘FIFA 08′ was released this month for XBox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game has some exciting new features with more realistic animation.
