Liverpool FC New Stadium Delayed

The Liverpool FC Stadium was scheduled to be completed by summer of 2010 but because of the global economic downturn that date will be moved back some. The brand new $600 million stadium was originally going to have a seating capacity of over 60,000 though that number has been significantly raised to include over 73,000 seats.
Liverpool FC co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks have changed the plans because they believe that they need the extra seats to accommodate the fans and make more money. However the $600 million price tag does not make this project cheap. Gillett and Hicks …read more
West Ham/Millwall Game Leaves Fan Stabbed

Riot police were called to help control soccer fans after a game at London’s Uptown Park. Before the West Ham/Millwall game began a man was stabbed after a small riot broke out between opposing fans. The man was rushed to the hospital after police and stadium security finally broke up the brawl. Camera crews show fans of both sides throwing bottles and bricks at the police. For fear or more riots after the game, police were dispatched to direct crowds directly to the subway by blocking off streets.

Carlos Tevez Leaving Manchester United

Carlos Tevez is one of the star forwards playing for Manchester United. His record and standings are impeccable but it seems that the club aren’t meeting his needs.
He just refused signing a new five year contract with Man. United stating that he would be better appreciated elsewhere. Where does elsewhere mean, well has expressed a desire to remain in England and play for either Chelsea or Manchester City.

Man. United Wins Third Straight Premier Cup

Manchester United won their third straight Barclays Premier Title after a scoreless game against Arsenals on Sunday May 16, 2009. After winning the title a total of 18 times they have won the cup more than any other team in the league.

Aston Villa Manager Charged

The manager for the Aston Villa club has been charged for improper conduct by the Football Association.
Martin O’Neill was charged by the aasociation after making obscene comments to referee Mike Riley at last Sunday’s football match against Manchester United. O’Neill said that Riley failed to call a foul and allowed five minutes of injury time against his team. Aston Villa lost the game 3-2 after reserve striker Frederico Macheda scored at the 93rd minute mark. Though charged by the club O’neill has until the 27th of April to respond to make an appeal.

Shearer Fails to Win First Game as Manager

Alan Shearer, who had his first game today as the new manager for Newcastle, failed to impress as Chelsea stole the show in a 2-0 victory. With just seven matches remaining, Newcastle are in the bottom three right now and haven’t celebrated an at home victory in nearly four months. Truly awful.
Chelsea player, Frank Lampard, kicked the ball in an empty net in the 56th minute, followed by Florent Malouda who sealed the deal for his team with a second goal after 65 minutes.

Manchester United Delivers Stunning Victory Over Chelsea 3-0

In what was expected to be a neck in neck game, Manchester United delivered three scores against one of the best teams in the league, Chelsea. Manchester United might have been the preferred team going in but to be set back three goals was embarrassing. Now with Chelsea safely out of the way Man. United are expected to take the league title home with them again.
In this action shot, John O’Shea of Manchester United plays keep away with Michael Ballack of Chelsea. Goals for Man United were delivered by Vidic, Rooney and Berbatov.
