Ukraine Euro 2012 Under Threat

Ukraine’s ability to host the Euro 2012 games is under threat as local economy plumets. The United States are not the only people feeling the crunch. The Ukraine has been under some severe economic pressures during the past few months.
The chairman of Ukraine’s organizing committee, Evhen Chervonenko, said in an interview that construction has frozen at about 80 per cent of the hotels needed to be built for the event, as banks are no longer extending loans to developers.
No one is sure what is going to happen. But one thing is for sure, as the world falls into another economic depression, funding for sporting events will be the first things to be cut.
