United States Women Win Gold in Olympic Soccer

USA defeats Brazil to win Gold 2008 Beijing Olympics - August 21, 2008

The United States women have just clenched the gold medal for soccer (football) during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. They defeated Brazil 1:0 in what can only be described as a passionate fight. Brazil will receive silver for their accomplishments in the games. Congratulations US Women!

No doubt, Brazil was favorite in the final and played better than USA, but the major difference was that USA had a very good plan in the final, while Brazil just went for attack one after another, without having any realistic plan. USA women’s team showed high class of professionalism and I think, they deserve the gold medal. Brazil needs to learn this, because when you are playing top level of football, planning does matter. Well, I must admit that they followed their culture of ‘Joga Bonito’ meaning beautiful football.
