Whatever Happened To Loyalty FFF?

Whatever happened to loyalty French Federation of Football (FFF)? Adidas has been the main sponsor and producer of the French soccer attire since the 1970’s. But now in a 42.66 million euro per year deal Nike has taken over.

SoccerLens is reporting that this amount is four times more than what they were getting from Adidas and it will be 12.5 million more than what they are paying to the English FA. Nike is also paying France FFF triple what they are paying the Brazilian Federation.

So what does this all mean? I’d have to admit that it’s a hard for the FFF to turn down. So the question that comes up is, ‘why is Nike so desperate to take hold of the French market?’ Seems like allot of money for just another deal?

Well, I wonder what their new outfits and stuff look like. I just hope that they don’t have to put little American flags on their backs.

Check out the site for more info about the FFF.

  1. By the way, this was reported first on the mCalcio blog. Thought you might like to know…

And FFF stands for Fédération française de football. Incidentally the acronym works for “French Football Federation” as well. :)
