The Alcatel OT-V770 is one of the cheapest gadgets out there suffering from smartphone anorexia. Here’s what’s hot, and what’s not:
What’s Hot
- Can be used as a webcam
- Barely under a centimeter (10mm) thick
- Bluetooth 2.0 available
- microSD slot
- Standard 4-pin USB port
- 1.3 megapixel camera captures pictures and videos
- Plays music (MP3)
- Long battery life despite “weak” 700mAh capacity
- …All that for an average of $215
- Comes in a matte, scratch-resistant, black finish (white also available, but it’s not as hot)
What’s Not
- Let’s make your menus more straightforward Alcatel!
- Flat keypad makes pressing the wrong key easier
- Weird keypad layout (pound, star and 0 all to the side)
The bottom line: Alcatel has done a good job with this phone, offering mid-range functionality at a decidedly budget price. All they need to do is make the menus more straightforward. There’s nothing wrong with imitating the successful setups of competitors, you know.

they always dissapear and come out with something once in a while .. but i heard their phones have some really good reception. despite the bads it has many great things ..
thnx for the post btw
