Apple build a Tablet PC

Why on earth would Apple wanna build a Tablet PC. This type of laptops have never sold well because they are way overpriced and personally I only buy cheap laptops as they do the same work as expensive ones. Just add more RAM and its good to go.

Here’s some word at Crave that Asus will be Apple’s partner in making tablet pcs. Way to go…That’s a good way to make money in their coffers.

Apparently whilst dining with suitably high-placed Asus execs, the bloggers got the skinny on Apple’s fabled touch device: “We were told in a very hushed manner: ‘Asus is helping Apple build a Tablet PC’.”

Asus, an Apple contract manufacturer, is one of the companies responsible for building the iBooks, PowerBooks and MacBooks so could indeed be well placed to know details.

One reason for Apple to proceed with this is the intuitive multi-touch interaction that they’ve built into their touchpads and, especially, the iPhone.

I think it’s a good move. I’m sure people were wondering (I was) why Apple would get into the phone business. I think they’ve proven that they are capable of reinventing the wheel… er screen.
