If you work late nights like me, you’ll need something to protect yourself from muggers and rapist. A knife or gun would do but its considered illegal in many countries to carry around. So the other best alternative is probably to carry keys in your hand all the time or just this cool new Tactical torchlight – Brite-Strike Tactical “Blue Dot” flashlights to blind your assailants. This easy to carry flashlights come in 2 flavours – 1 cell powered (BD-1C) and 2 cell powered ones (BD-2C). I like the 2 cell powered one since it packs up to 90 lumens of blinding white light and can last for up to 50 hours in low light mode (35 lumens). The 1 x 3V CR123a Lithium battery model can operate on high for up to two hours (the one cell model is high only) and you may need to change batteries often if you forget to switch it off.

Brite-Strike Technologies Inc., the makers of tactical illumination products, has introduced a new line of military spec flashlights to the market. The Tactical “Blue Dot” flashlights were designed by police officers for police officers and are now available to the public. The new line offers two sizes, a 1-cell measuring 3.5” in length and a 2-cell measuring 5” in length, which fit in the palm of your hand and pack up to 90 lumens of blinding white light (est. 6400 Kelvin). The light is produced from a 3 watt state-of-the-art piece of technology, the Luxeon LED from Philips Lumiled. When set to high, these flashlights emit an extraordinarily brilliant light that can momentarily blind and disorient an attacker. When set to low, these flashlights can be used for regular use without the dark spots of standard flashlights because of its faceted machined aluminum reflector that produces its flawless beam.
