Choosing iTunes vs Amazon for MP3s

iTunes

A quote from the report of UK’s Times Online shows, Amazon has approached “all music majors in the past fortnight” to launch its MP3 store in May 2007. It is the sign of the iTunes Empire going to have a price war with Amazon which is launching the attack using the DRM-free strategy by partnering with the Universal Music Group.

According to the report from Billboard, Universal Music Group had partnered with Amazon to sell unprotected music. However, whether Amazon can keep up with Apple iTunes store progress, is still a debatable topic. To know that iTunes is not the only choice we can go after if Amazon did successfully have its DRM-free MP3 store opened, is good news for the entire existing customer base of iPod lovers. In addition, the available DRM-free MP3 is a great news for us, as we can share our music easily and don’t have to worry about how to burn the DRM music into the CD.
