Just got word that Clippz.com , the world’s first and only way to “sideload” optimized video clips from the Internet to a mobile device, now offers its entire MySpace, Metacafe and YouTube collections encoded in Apple iPhone’s H.264 file format. There are about 500 downloadable clips now. Apple iPhone users will be able to sideload selected MySpace and Metacafe clips for optimized playback on their device, complementing the streaming video content available directly from YouTube.
The technology that powers Clippz.com – Clippz Cascade – is based on an flexible mobile video encoder than converts a single input video into multiple outputs based on a predefined set of more than 30 device profiles. Unlike other video download sites, Clippz.com enables users to get video clips that have been pre-converted into their specific mobile device’s optimum file format. No software, driver installation, or mobile network is required.
