Cordster Review by Colbert Low

My table is such a mess right now. Here’s what I have on it right now : an external 3.5 inch hard disk casing, a bluetooth/irda adapter, a Sony battery charger, a Dell Axim X50, Dell Axim X50 docking station, Nokia 6510, Nokia Charger, Network Cables and my Nikon Camera USB Cable. Its messier than the back of Chewbacca’s head.
One of the things that gets me really irritated is the sight of messy wires and cables. I think its cool when companies come out with solutions to that problem. Cordster is one of them. Let’s call them the Wire management company.
Cordster:
Works well with virtually all portable cords, thin and sleek, less than 7mm deep, snaps easily on and off using tough, removable Velcro-like fastener.
When Cordster dropped into my mail box a month ago, it seem like a very cool thing. Its a simple elevated disc with some super-velcro (called Dual Lock). You just stick it on the back of your PDA and wrap your headphones around it. That’s what my friend has done. He has a Creative MP3 Player and its great since it prevents your PDA/MP3 player from being scratch too when you lie it down on the table.
Cordster comes in silver, white and black. Just 3 colours doesn’t really suit me as I love exotic colours like Cotton Candy.
Unlike the normal sticky tapes that I use for the office, the 3M Removable Velcro-like fastener on the Cordster ensures your PDA is smear-free once you remove it. That’s good since I don’t have to waste time wiping the stickiness off with my magic cloth.
Here’s what they say at New York Metro :
It’s narrow enough that it’ll fit the new iPod nano, it comes in three colors (white, gray, and black), and it was invented right here in New York City by a guy named Drew Zoller who plays trombone in a local band called The Tri-State Conspiracy. At the moment he’s selling direct through his website and the Chelsea Apple shop Tekserve, but the minute he gets a mega-retailer (hello, Amazon?) to pick it up, he’s going to make a mint. Because everyone I’ve shown Cordster to loves it.
OK. Here’s my thumb’s up to Drew Zoller and his Cordster. Small ideas are all you need sometimes.
Surf to Cordster for under $5 for one, or 5 for under $15.

Check out what others are saying about this post...[...] The MAKROLON Apple iPod Shuffle Plastic Case looks like something Cordster could conjour up. Cable management could become passe since Bluetooth is already becoming extremely mainstream. But you might just be a great fan of your old Sony Walkman and would like to just show up with it on your high school reunion look retro-ish. Japanese Rakuten offers the MAKROLON Apple iPod shuffle plastic case with integrated cable organizer to deal with the headset cable. [...]
