The Butterfly Personal Heater will keep you warm indoors or outdoors the safe way. Japanese invented environmentally friendly system generates heat via platinum catalysis, a process by which evaporated lighter fluid and oxygen react with the Butterfly’s internal platinum catalysis glass fiber. Produces warm, safe-burning heat yet produces no harmful emissions or flame. This can be used in your shirt pocket, any other pocket, in your hand, in a holder around your neck or even in bed to keep warm. More economical than disposable heat packs… less than one ounce of fluid lasts up to 24 hrs! Simple to use, simply fill with either Zippo cigarette lighter or Naphata fuel or other types provided the fuel has no additives.

I have one of these from Sears from like the 1950’s. It’s a pretty neat gadget though, it does the trick.

The guy who says he invented the thing in Japan should be bitchslapped. This is a ripoff of the Jon-E handwarmer that has been sold in the US for over half a century. Here’s a link to where you can buy it at Cabellas Outfitters.

From early childhood it has never dawned on me, how it works – looking on man on ice with small rods in hand and such heaters in pockets. I think they warm up not only with these heaters )

    Ummm…

The orignal hand warmer was invented in 1923 by Niichi Matoba. It was called the HAKUKIN-kairo. ‘Fraid the Japanese beat us to it.
