Now That’s Auto Focus, Says the Olympus E3

What better way to advertise the Olympus E-3 Digital SLR Camera’s auto focus ability, than by showcasing a very automatic focusing activity? Out more than two years ago, this scene of men stealing quick glances at ample mammaries is nonetheless timeless—especially if the female subject of attention has a low neckline and shiny slender legs.
In any case, thanks to its relative age, this high-end dSLR now goes for $200 less than its original $1300 launch price, from Buy.Com.

My mom (of all people) recently sent me the forwarded email shared below, which details the alleged effects of a 12V car charger failing spectacularly:
Hi All,
Sharing with you an article below… always good to get a little reminder!
Everyone take care and God bless…
As some of you may know, we had a pretty scary incident recently. Attached are pictures of what remains of our 2007 Suburban. We are all okay but I wanted to warn everyone not to make the same mistake I did.
This fire resulted from leaving an Iphone charger/docking station plugged into the car outlet. It …read more

How to Make $80k/Year Fixing PCs
December 4, 2009 by Rico Mossesgeld

According to The PC Guild, it’s possible to make $80,000 a year (or a bit over $6,600 a month) fixing PCs in your area—even if you charge for only 4 hours a day:
I bill for about 4 hours a day on average, and I charge $70 an hour. I mainly fix computer problems related to corrupt hard drives, RAM installation, CD/DVD ROM repair, internet connectivity issues, printer problems, audio problems, and the like.
I charge $20 just to take a look at your computer. If you decided that you want me to fix it, (after I tell you how long it …read more
The Kick-Ass Motorola Droid Ad

Is it just me, or has a competitor finally beat Apple at its own superiority-driven marketing game? The newest Verizon ad promoting the Motorola Droid does so by dissing the iPhone, implying it to be a shallow, “digitally clueless” toy only meant to look pretty:
What do you think of the ad? Verizon Wireless seems pretty confident about their wireless broadband network, so they’d better live up its claim of mobile net superiority! The Droid “Pretty” ad feels like a kick-ass answer to Apple’s “there’s an app for that” campaign, featuring witty and pithy messaging the Mac maker is known for. …read more
DVD-Ripping Man Wants Prosecution Under Law
December 3, 2009 by Rico Mossesgeld

Last October, Henrik Anderson had ripped his entire DVD collection to his computer, in an effort to challenge the Danish legal act that allows copies of media to be made for personal use, yet at the same time prohibits attempts to disable copy protection technology.
Mr. Anderson, after circumventing the DRM of his DVDs and effectively breaking the law, reported himself to the Danish anti-piracy group Antipiratgruppen. He had requested that the group respond by December 1, “indicating whether or not [it intends] to prosecute him” and has yet to receive one as of today.
The Danish man is determined to force …read more

What is the World’s Largest Multi-Touch?

Need ammo for your next trivia competition, formal or not? What if someone asks you “What’s the world’s largest multi-touch screen?”* The answer: a massive 4574 square-foot display at Nürburgring, known to Formula One enthusiasts as the venue for the German Grand Prix.
Drool-worthy specs follow:
The two-piece wall consists of a huge LED media facade (at the top), and a multitouch information-wall (at the bottom), and impresses by its physical size, as it totals a surface of about 425 square meters, equaling more than 6000 computer displays.
The interactive interface emerges out of 34 million pixels generated by 15 high definition projectors, …read more
