Intel’s Andy Grove: Going Electric Equals Genuine Energy Independence

Looks like Andy Grove, the former chairman of Intel, has been pretty busy. It probably took him quite some time to write Our Electric Future. The article makes a strong case for concentrating on “electrical” independence—the same wonderful juice that powers our gadgets—rather than “energy independence”. Here’s the kicker summary:
Electricity is the ‘stickiest’ form of energy and it is multi-sourced. As a result, it will give us (the USA) the greatest degree of energy resilience.
Check out the article here.

The goal defined by Andy Grove is valuable and laudable.
Electricity is not an energy source, it is an energy medium. Mr Grove has the resources to tell us the amount of energy need to replace the petroleum.
The existing system can tolerate a few cars such as the Tesla and home converters but not 25% of the transportation fleet.
To achieve Mr Grove’s goal we need to strat building nuclear plants now.
Well, surely some people will take issue with your push for Nuclear Energy, but I like how you characterize Electricity as a medium.
