The MacBook Air experience: take away the design, and you’re left with the portability and Mac OS X. That’s what the katexter has, thanks to his Hackintosh conversion of his MSI Wind. He (or she) claims it starts Word faster than a 2.4Ghz iMac, and more or less complete functionality:
What works: 1024×600 screen, Ethernet, USB ports, Keyboard, Trackpad, Webcam, Sleep, Bluetooth, Speakers, Audio controls
What doesn’t work: Audio Jacks, WiFi
Workarounds: USB Wifi and USB Audio dongles work.

i am a student and this would be ideal for me, wonder how much it costs?
I’ll bet the price beats the crap out of the MacBook too! I said a long time ago they should Max OS available for sale to install on any Intel based machine that wants to buy it.
alan: Well, the MSI Wind (and the upping of RAM to 3GB) cost the equivalent of $600.
Smorga: It definitely does! Apple probably won’t allow that, as it’s a reason why they’re “distinctive”.
