Maxtor was bought last year by Seagate but that did not stop them from rolling out new products such as the enhanced OneTouch III Mini Edition available in capacities of of 60GB and 100 GB.
The OneTouch Mini Drive comes in a genuine stylish manner, featuring a silvery futuristic look and a seven ounces weight. But Maxtor’s latest and maybe last product also comes bundled with a suite of software applications which are meant to protect and manage data, but also to create automatic backup, data encryption, data synchronization and system rollback.
“The Maxtor OneTouch III Mini Edition has two levels of security, one is the software encryption which protects the data on its being lost or stolen. Then there is the Maxtor DriveLock firmware which further restricts access to stored data if used by some one else. The drive is available in two sizes, 60GB or 100GB and is easily compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP computer via a USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 port,”.
Too bad deleting the data on the Maxtor’s OneTouch III Mini Edition is quite troublesome. Novice users will find it difficult but you have to delete the whole folder itself.
