I had concerns and contacted them before I purchased. They informed me they are under completely new management and being run a new way? So I purchased one of their new cases on September 29th and got it October 1st. They shipped it with Fed-ex and I am very happy I decided to give them a chance. Their new case snaps together with a clip and looks much easier to use than the model this article is on. Bravo DRO keep up the good work. It sounds like you might actually have gotten your head on straight.

  4. This is exactly the sort of case which proves the need for our campaign – the Campaign To Ban the internet. Internet Addiction counselling and other programs are Just a Panacea. The Only Solution is an all-out ban.

Please visit our website at http://baninter.net/ and add Your Voice to the growing campaign for an outright Ban on this pernicious evil of the modern world.

    Thank you.

  5. nice post..big discount..

  6. cheap gadgets says:

    wow..nice post…but that’s so expensive :)

  7. It’s definitely a lot more useful and flexible to be able to use it with and without a pen. With the new generation of Wacom tablets, just imagine the different possible ways of creating illustrations other than with a pen.
Though I feel that ultimately it’s entirely up to whoever is using it. It might be useful to certain people, but redundant to some. Well I guess it’s better to wait for reviews then. =)

The 18.5″ Dell Inspiron is actually a great deal. We had been looking at the 17″ for about the same price last week. I am surprised Dell is doing this with Windows 7–Microsoft must be giving them license deals.

HP can suck a dick. I bought 2 laptops from them, and had nothing but problems, from the day I bought it, to trying to get someone to help me! They won’t ever get another dollar out of me. If anyone is reading this that’s thinking about getting a PC… DON’T GET A HP this is all I will tell you.

This is a very very awsome piece i dont want to lose this can u just solve this please.

    sudheer

    • GeorgeB says:

I have had the ‘menu won’t open’ problem on my E63 too. An easy way to solve it is to change the left softkey from menu to something else (I changed it to music player) It has something to do with a 2 second delay so you can block your keyboard. You can still acces your menu using the home key. It’s a real shame nokia didn’t solve this problem in a firmware update but maybe they will in the near future :] I hope this helps B)

  22. tablebilliard says:

Nice information. Billiards is an all-encompassing term used to describe all cue sports including pool, snooker, and carom games. Carom games are played on pocket less tables. It’s very common for people to use the term “billiards” to refer exclusively to carom games. Snooker is similar to pocket billiards in that it is played on tables with pockets. Snooker is usually played on very large tables and has smaller balls and pockets than in pool.

You people just don’t get it. If the power output of a microwave transmitting source was as powerful as it is when the allergy subject was within 2 or 3 feet away, then yes, they wouldn’t be able to go anywhere without being affected.
However, as the strength reduces significantly the futher away one happens to be from the source, then it means that people like me are only affected if we’re close to or touching the transmitting device.

I really wish some of you could go through what I do if I’m stupid enough to get very close to WiFi, DECTs, and mobile phones.
BTW – ref Ian’s original DT blog. I’ve solved my problem of using a laptop around the house without having to use it wirelessly.
I purchased one of those ethernet plug extenders – where it uses the home’s electrical wiring circuit to send the broadband signal around the house.

It works fantastically, and as yet I’m not able to detect any microwave effects.

i have bought a new transcend 250 gb sata USB harddisk..
when i tried to copy a iso file of size 4GB..it shows an error that “the file system is too large to copy”

    please help me with this

    • varun: Disks encoded with the FAT32 file format can’t support file sizes larger than just below 4GB. You’ll have to reformat the disk to use the NTFS file format, but the hard disk will only be able to work with Windows PCs as a result.

  25. Gareth says:

This is to creepy for words, how has the time to do this sort of thing? Good quality though!

  26. DavidB (subscribed) says:

This chart makes absolutely NO SENSE. If you take the “average” speed and multiply by the “average” cost per MB, you SHOULD get something approximating what it costs. Nobody in the USA at least is paying $16/month for a close to 5Mbps connection, more like 3 to 4 times that. And there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell the AVERAGE connection across all of Japan is 61Mbps, let alone paying only ~$16/month for it.

I have the W755 – and have had constant battery issues. After trying two new batteries I went to the high Mah battery with extended cover and it still runs out at end of day . This problem has to be the phone design. Never had this problem with my RZR.

Good points! Premium cables like those at the Shack or Monster cables are usually overpriced and don’t necessarily give a better signal.

In the old days of composite cables for video, or RCA cables for audio, a cheap cable could have subtle degredation of the signal that the audiophiles/videophiles would get picky about.

In the days of digital signals (like USB or HDMI cables), they typically either work, or they don’t. You don’t get a slightly fuzzy screen, you get big blocks of garbled video. Go as cheap as you can without seeing problems!

  30. pniemczyk says:

This thing is a real piece of garbage. I have the 160GB version and the software works only when it feels like it. (I’m using Vista.) I will check certain folders to be synched, it’ll say it was synched, and then when I open the files on the WD drive, they won’t be there. Then I re-open the file options dialog box, and the wrong (or none of) the folders will be checked. It’s really very frustrating. Now I can’t access the files on the drive, even though the drive is nearly full of data. The software is finicky.

    Just plain junk.

  32. James @ litl says:

Thanks for highlighting the new litl webbook, an Internet computer for the home.

You’re right that it’s 100% internet-dependent — we’ve integrated the web into the operating system and user experience in a lot of interesting ways. But, at least in the U.S., home broadband penetration is approaching 65% and still growing quickly.

While the webbook certainly *could* travel to the local cafe, park, or library (assuming they have Wi-Fi), we envision the webbook staying in the home for the most part — in the kitchen, bedroom, living room, back porch, etc.

So, for our users at least, we don’t see internet connectivity being a serious problem. They’re already online and have it throughout their homes.

Rico, glad to talk offline and get you connected for a demo or conversation with the team.

Hi have sussed some of the problems with using the WD Passport. If you simply want to save files or photos its better to keep them as standard or exact copy files ie simply click start – computor- wd drive- right click and create a new folder on the new drive ie MY SUFF copy all into this subfolder or directly copy to the drive if you like but id rename them with CAPITALS so you will always know these are your copied files you have move or created ie all pre installed software and synced files ect the DO NOT TO TOUCH OR WIPE come or will be crated by the sync prog if used as Capital first letter then in lower case. Then simply copy and paste to these new files Then if disc space is a problem delete from your comp but if they r extra precious id keep another copy on a third external drive!!or burn cds . Note with music ect u can nominate the music files on your external drive to detect as add ins to your media player & simulaly with pics so you have acess to them with player,

Using sync is when you want to keep an up to date exact copy of settings files n folders and changes you make to your work you use and or delete made. Its probably a more useful tool to use when you have two comps like home n work then you can keep them to a identical setup n work sheets up to date by syncing between on and the other comp.Thing to remember here is if you delete files from you comp and sync them they will also be deleted or lost from your sync files ie its mirroring what youve done not keeping whats its has previously copied
Synced files are stored as encrypted and reduced form by the sync program. To Copy your Synced stuff from stored encryted form on the WD to your comp is done by selecting to copy to pc tab in the sync program this brings up a encripted copied files list that is the stored on wd you then tab all files or individually nominate by tabing the folders u want to copy back and then folling this thru to nominate where you want the files to be placed on a second comp or alternatly another drive. Its possible to format your comp and reinstall but i think thwart with danger ie if your sync is set to auto you will loose all the files that you want to copy back as well, think you need to have auto sync off and copy back as above but i would make third copies way before i even tried

Safer Backups of your files to restore in case of meltdown ect are better handled by specific windows backup or nortons ect and then you can nominate the WD drive as your backup location and retreive them from there using those or simular program Hope this helps someone it blew out and i got more speed up than i meant too lol
