SAMSUNG SGH-D880 launched in Kuala Lumpur

The useful dual SIM SAMSUNG SGH-D880 was launched in Kuala Lumpur this morning. I really wanted to attend that launched in KL but sleep was more important. Here’s the press release and some eye candy models holding the dual SIM SAMSUNG SGH-D880 mobile phone.

Kuala Lumpur, December 27, 2007 – Samsung today announced the launch of the SGH-D880, a revolutionary mobile phone incorporating two separate SIM card slots and Dual Active Standby connectivity that enable users to enjoy a hassle free mobile experience along with the functionality of two phones in one sleek unit. Users can activate both SIM cards simultaneously and effortlessly to receive calls and SMSes on either one. Connectivity is enhanced as the SGH-D880 user can be served by two networks at any one time. The perfect companion for multi SIM users such as frequent travelers and business professionals, the slider eliminates the need to carry multiple handsets.

The SGH-D880 is the second in Samsung’s Dual Standby or “2On” phone line-up. Samsung had earlier launched SGH-W579, its first “2On” phone which allows for a CDMA SIM card and a GSM SIM card to be in use concurrently. The SGH-D880 is Samsung’s first dual GSM SIM card “2On” offering.

The SGH-D880 incorporates a large battery that offers superior standby time of up to 360 hours. It also features an embedded 3 Mega-pixel camera with Auto Focus, and a CMOS sensor to capture high quality, razor-sharp images when traveling or at play.
