]]> Thanks to BGR, we now have word on this new RIM BlackBerry phone that sports a clamshell design. Its’ a big move for RIM since their design is more suited to business people on the move. I bet this will increase their sales in Japan since people there love clamshells. From the pic below, it looks like a glossy glass encased front display with metal coating. Pretty slick from the older plastic looking BlackBerries I’ve seen. The KickStart BlackBerry phone specs after this :

The KickStart is a Quad-band GSM phone with a 240×320 internal display, a 160×128 external screen, a 2 Megapixel camera and the next generation SureType keypad. The clamshell KickStart will support WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
