The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3: What’s Hot, What’s Not

Throughout my use of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3, here’s what stood out for me:
What’s Hot
- Really compact, small enough for pockets
- Lightweight
- 8.1 megapixels made affordable (market prices don’t go above $200)
- Supports up to 4GB SDs
- A battery that lasts the entire day
- VGA (640 x 480) video capture capability
- Lots of available colors (including black, silver, blue, pink)
What’s Not
- Limited photography controls
- Produces grainy pictures under lowlight conditions
- Flash washes out everything; used rarely in my case
To summarize: I’m pretty happy with this camera, as it’s a very affordable compact that nevertheless is capable of producing spectacular photography. Just stay in well-lighted areas if you don’t want to use the flash! And get a high-capacity SD card (as mentioned above, the camera supports up to 4GB via SDHC) if you want to spend the whole day taking pictures!
