WD Passport Essential: My Fave External HDD

My 250GB Western Digital My Passport Essential external hard drive is a personal favorite. Through months of heavy use, I’ve never experienced any issues or troubles with the unit, and the transfer speeds on this thing through USB 2.0 are fast. And as a satisfied reviewer on NewEgg writes: “It produces almost no heat”. Most importantly, the drive itself is very compact and portable.
I could live without the practically useless software however, especially since I rely on third-party apps like Amanda for backup. And higher capacities are unfortunately thicker than there less roomy counterparts (yet represent a lower dollar to gigabyte ratio).
Still, consider my recommendation for the WD My Passport Essential an unreserved one. The hard drives are available through online retailer NewEgg.com. There are numerous capacities and colors. For your convenience, I’ve listed all many of them below (I got the “Intense Blue” 250GB Passport Essential):

I bought the Red 250 from Dell along with my new E6500 laptop with SDD. Works well nightly backing up my laptop when its docked.
Fast and quiet.
Ah yes, thanks for reminding me about how quiet those Passports are!
