Would You Pay $40 to Protect Your Genitals?

Such is the promise of Logitech’s nice-looking Comfort Lapdesk for Notebooks. Most likely designed for people who can’t be bothered placing their laptops on—ironically enough—a desk, the Comfort Lapdesk a four-layer heat shielding design marketed in the most politically-correct way possible, since it “protect[s] your body from unwanted heat.”
Come to think of it though, if you use this Comfort Lapdesk and turn it around (so that the raised portion is towards you), you have a great carpal tunnel prevention device—when used on a desk. We’re already as confused as you are, so just check out the product page for more details.

Is it just that they’re running out of things to invent? This seems odd to say the least. If you’ve got your laptop directly on your lap instead of a table or desk I’m going to assume it’s because you’re on the go. So are you really going to want to tote this thing around–or explain what it is to curious passer-byers?
